About Mazatlan, Sinaloa

Located in the Pacific Ocean, the port of Mazatlan is one of the most famous destinations in Mexico. Its name means “Land of Deer” and it is one of the main cities in the State of Sinaloa, the second most important after Culiacan.

It is known as the Pearl of the Pacific thanks to its gorgeous beaches like Norte Beach, Gaviotas Beach and Venados Beach; in them one can practice several aquatic sports, from sport fishing to sailing, and jetski rides or aquatic banana. One can get to Mazatlan by different means: by air through its international airport; by land using Highway #15 Mexico-Nogales and the Pan-American road #40 that connects Mazatlan with Matamoros, Tamaulipas; and by sea, Mazatlan has connections with the state of Baja California Sur, it is also a scale of cruise lines like Carnival, Norwegian and Princess. If you travel from the United States by highway, don’t forget to consider the payment of toll booths. Remember that in many shops and tourist services you can pay either with local currency or American dollars.
